Creamy Sirloin Steak with Mushrooms

Sirloin steak bites in a tasty mushroom cream sauce

Ingredients


  • 1 lb sirloin steak cut in thick strips or chunks
  • 1 tbs olive oil
  • Sauce:
  • 8 oz button mushrooms
  • 8 oz creme fraiche see notes
  • 1 tbs Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbs horseradish cream
  • 2 tbs onion
  • 1 tbs butter
  • 1 tbs olive oil


Instructions


  1. Heat a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tbs olive oil.
  2. Brown meat on all sides; remove from pan and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet add 1 tbs olive oil and the butter over medium-high heat. Add the mushrooms and sear until they begin to brown. Lower the heat to medium-low then add the onion and sauce until translucent.
  4. Add the remaining sauce ingredients stir well to combine. Add the sirloin back to the pan and heat through.
